Liner Notes...
Rhett’s thoughts:
I have been contemplating this CD for years and I’m not really sure why it took me so long. Part of it had to do with picking the right material. The rest is a mystery. Technically, I think the cd is really solid. The intonation is good. It’s well recorded. I played a few right notes.
I was caught in two minds about this project. The little guy with the pitch fork standing on my left shoulder was telling me to play a bunch of fancy guitar stuff. The one with the halo was saying play music that is easy on the ears. I decided to do a little of both.
I really enjoyed playing with Phil Bass. He is a great percussionist.
I’ve always been inspired by the electric guitar. In a very different way than the acoustic. It’s just better for improvising. There is more freedom of movement. I have to mention Stanley Jordan. I have met him a few times and I can sing along with a few of his recordings. He’s a great player and deserves my thanks for starting me down this path.
I included a few of my favorite songs. Songs you probably know. I hope they are ones you like too.
Thanks: God, Family, Nicole, Kelly, Martin, Phil, Mack, Mark, George, Shane, Tracy, Stuart, Ron, the Browns, Tim, Kim and you.
