"Rhett Butler is a gifted jazz guitarist. He uses his trademark style to coax filigreed harmonies and shimmering melodies out of his instrument. The Obsessive-Compulsive Guitarist is born."

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Dear Friends,

I have recently had some requests for transcriptions. These are the first five that I have completed. Hopefully, more will follow. The sheet music itself will include the tuning and specific articulation.

Some of my favorite tricks are notated as follows:

Slap Harmonic (SH) – Striking the neck with the index finger of the right hand twelve frets above the fretted note. This produces a bell type sound.

Swipe (SW) – A rhythmic (no pitch) attack on the strings that is used as a transition from one technique to the next.

Thump (TH) – Attacking the string with the thumb of the right hand. This is a bass guitar technique.

Roll – Strumming the strings one finger at a time flamenco style.

Assume that for tunes that feature two hand tapping, that all notes are either hammered or pulled off unless otherwise notated. If you find some passage that is unclear please contact me.

Enjoy,

Rhett Butler
